BTEC Tech Award Level 1/2 Health and Social Care Component 1 - a complete teaching package to pick-up and run with. This covers what is need in the life stage Birth to Infancy (0-2 years) for a Level 1 student If you are following my SoW this is Week 2 is the delivery of all aspects covering growth and development in the first life stage, birth to infancy 0-2 years. This is a basic timeline activity which covers; Physical: rapid physical growth of weight and height, development of gross and fine motor skills, following the same pattern of growth and development but at different rates Intellectual: rapid development of language and thinking skills such as memory/recall Emotional: attachments are formed, emotional wellbeing is based on bonding/attachment, security and contentment Social: strong dependence on adults/carers, socialisation through family, engage in solitary play A student will need an A3 piece of landscape paper and a ruler Along the way there are Pause-Points to encourage engagement, but the presentation is adaptable to suit you teaching style. Optional video’s are on certain slides, depending how you are getting on for time.
